Fall 2008

Wayside Children and Family Services

The event was held on November 19th at Kitty O'Sheas bar located in Downtown Boston. Three live bands volunteered their time to play during the evening, and a giant raffle was held to help raise money. Overall almost 2500$ was raised to help Wayside. The organization plans on using the money to help build a new campus for the teen residents. There will be a plaque recognizing the class to commemorate the gift.

Youth Outreach Fights Against Domestic Violence and Homelessness

This three part project included collecting personal care products and distributing them to a domestic violence shelter (Renewal House) and an outreach program for homeless youth. .

Part 1 - The group scheduled an event at a residence hall with pizza and a movie. Residents were asked to bring an item for admittance.

Part 2 - All the items were transported to Ellis Memorial, an after school program, where the children helped assemble the bags of products and then had cake and punch to celebrate their good work.

Part 3 - The bags were delivered to Renewal house and the youth program.

Adoption Bag Project
The concept was to provide twenty-five backpacks to families of newly adopted children through Suffolk County Juvenile Court. The backpacks were filled with resources lists of activities around the city, photo albums, cameras, gift cards and journals. This group set up a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen and raised $215 for backpacks for the gifts. Backpacks were presented to parents on Adoption Day.

Fundraiser for Community Servings
This group raised $2395 to donate to Community Servings, a local, non-profit organization that delivers meals to individuals that are homebound with life threatening illnesses. The Baseball Tavern turned over its profits for the evening. This group secured many donations of gift certificates awarded to people who came out for the event.

Fall 2007

This semester's students formed "NUnited: United Against Violence, United for Peace," an event promoting peace and alternatives to violence held at Bird Street Community Center.

Spring 2007

This semester's students held a Senior Prom at Symphony Plaza (East and West) with a fund raiser at Jake Ivory's Piano Bar.

Fall 2006

This semester's students raised money and donated it to Project Hope, an agency that works to make health care available to all people, especially children.

Spring 2006

This semester's students conducted a book drive. Book donations went to local children's hospitals and elementary schools.

This semester's students held a Silent Witness and had a cell phone drive to raise awareness for Domestic Violence.
